Plan B

I got my shift cut today... so instead of actually doing anything of worth and human importance... I played God of War for about 5 hours. Damn skippy was that fun! And I got pretty far, too, although I had to stop in Poseidon's temple because I was about this close to chucking the controller at the TV screen. I remember from waaaaay back in the day when I was dating Joe, he rented this game and I spent a few hours watching him play it while I did scrapbooking on his couch. If my memory serves me right, he got stuck in this spot, too. It's weird, having sporadic bouts of deja vu while playing a video game, then remember you've actually seen them before 3 years ago on your ex's couch. So bizarre. But those flashes of memory also helped me figure out some of the puzzles in Pandora's Temple, because I'd been there before (kinda)! I think that was a good way to crap away a rainy unexpected day off. I think I scared Kiera, though, because I was screaming and thwacking the controller on my knee, so she hid in her dent on my bed---she has a certain spot she loves to sleep in, and now it has a little indent of her body in the mattress. It's cute.

So tomorrow I'll actually do something. Unlike today, where I spent about 10 minutes inspecting my face in the bathroom mirror; which is where the title of this post comes from. I was being a dork and playing around with my tongue (cuz it's freaky long and stuff) and I noticed these two thick BLUE veins framing the underside of the my tongue. First thought: Have those always been there? and Second Thought: I wonder if I eat something sharp and it pokes my tongue, will I bleed out? Yeah, this is why I should never be left alone to my own devices. It's scary. But tomorrow I have plans! *fan fare* Like return my pants to Old Navy, and head over to the MoA to get state magnets from the new states I visited during my Baltimore train trek. And go to Half Price Books and finally get rid of that pile of books, CDs, and DVDs that have been occupying needed space in my living room. Yay for extra moneys, and maybe getting some Christmas shopping done, too. Maybe if Jenni's not doing anything tomorrow (due to unlandscape designing friendly weather) she'd like to come with me. Hmm.

I've also decided a new design for my next tattoo. I have 3 I want to get now. My family tattoo, my Hebrews 13:2 tat, and now a new one. It'll be a pinup faerie. Like Claire's tattoo commission, but with wings instead of a tail. And since I drew this picture, I can totally steal it and modify it. ^_^ We have two pinup books in the bargain section at work, by Gil Elvgren, and I've been really inspired by his art. So I might go to work and buy the nicer (non pop-up pinup) book and use that to get some more poses and styles for my pinup faerie. I don't want to just straight up copy Claire's tattoo. So yeah. I'll put my pinup faerie on my left calf, my Hebrews 13:2 on my right calf, and my family tat will still be on my left arm. Yay. Now... all I have to do is find the moneys for all of these... *le sigh*

All right... that's about it. I'm hungry and I have some other things to do online before I leave to eat. Check y'all laterz.

God of War. Is. BRILLIANT.

I splurged (which I really needn't do, since moneys are a bit tight at the moment) and I bought God of War 1 & 2 and Avatar: The Burning Earth for PS2. I got GoW2 at Target a few weeks ago, and started to play it, but then my OCD kicked in and I can't play it until I've played and beaten GoW1. It's a lovely game where you get to beat the living shit out of people with big fun flaming swords and magic lightning attacks and it's just as violent and pumped full of testosterone as a game can be. Brilliant! I need a good game like that. With Burnout 3 I can demolish cars and stuff, but there's something much more satisfying about slicing a man in twain with flaming swords from the goddess Athena. Sweetness! I got Avatar: The Burning Earth because I just finished watching the third and final season of the cartoon.... and it totally blew my mind. I'm a bit obsessed with it right now, and I'm mad there's not going to be another season. But there are 3 PS2 games for me to play. I need to find the first one and get the last one soon. However, I did hear a rumor that there was going to be an Avatar movie coming out in 2010 or something... so I looked into that. It looks like it's going to be made into a live action movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan. WHAT!? *le fume* It's being called The Last Airbender, and it has an ETA of July 2010. From what I can gather from that article, it's not going to be a continuation of the story, but a people version of the whole series. What? There are a lot of questions that need to be answered from the final episode. They could totally do a new story line for 2 hours. Grrrrrr. I'm on the fence about this one.

So my coworker Sandy gave me two pounds of farmer grown, thick cut, heavily smoked bacon, and I had my sister over yesterday for brunch after church. We had scrambly eggs, waffles, and bacon... and GOD was it delicious! Oh! My apartment smelt of bacon all day... and still smells slightly of bacon now. It's kinda getting annoying, since I keep smelling that delicious meat and it makes me want to eat more. But if I did, I would surely die. I think a good 1/2 cup of grease and fat came off that bacon when we fried it up. Damn! I thanked Sandy today with a big hug when she came into work.

Went to see Rocknrolla with Erin last night, too. It was great! Kinda hard to get into at first, and not as good as Snatch, but still good. And the fact Gerard Butler's in it? Well, who can't not like it? Hehehe. I like going to see movies, it's a nice change of pace from just sitting in my living room watching them while knitting on my movie scarf. If anyone wants to go see movies, let me know! Transporter 3 is coming out soon... I wouldn't mind seeing that! (I <3 Jason Statham!) I'm breaking out of my hermit stage I've been in for the last few months. I want to get out more!!

And I don't work this Friday... I'm trying to figure out something to do. Hmmm.

I also just made an online purchase that has made me all tingly with nervous anticipation. [info]booklady50 knows what that's about. ;)

EDIT 743pm: I'm going to see Twilight with Leanne sometime after it opens. I suppose I have to actually read the book now... or I could pull a Harry Potter and not read the book(s) until after I see the movie(s).... *le shrug*
