Have been on a slight anime kick since Detour, which tends to happen since I have a slight addictive personality. But I went through my Netflix Queue and out of 100 movies (# of discs) in my queue, 26 are some sort of Anime movie or series disc. Hehehe. And then I went digging through some CD cases when I found 4 CDs my friend [info]akoumi had burned for me a while ago, and I had lost track of them before the move from my dad's to my apartment. So now I get to pick up Fullmetal Alchemist where I left off, and start Claymore, Noein and Ergo Proxy. I had forgotten about the last one, but then at Detour I had seen that series in the list for the Video Rooms, and the name rang a bell and I didn't remember why. Well, then it appears in the stack of CDs [info]akoumi had given me! Neat! So tomorrow while I'm home sick I'm going to watch Claymore. I love the manga version of it, and we'll see if the anime holds up. I guess sometimes the transition from manga to anime doesn't always work. But I know of enough that have stood that test, so I'm optimistic. But, Claymore may have to battle Trigun Volumes 3 & 4 that are coming tomorrow and Friday via Netflix. Hehehehe. Yay for Vash!

Well, figured out a possible reason for why my ears are acting up today. Besides the fact that I'm horribly sick (I actually called in sick tonight for my shift tomorrow which I never do unless I'm near death), I think it might have been exacerbated by the fact I hadn't taken my meds at all today. It struck me today when I was making supper that I hadn't taken the meds. Huh. I didn't feel my normal "med withdrawl" that I normally do, because my horrendous sickness was masking the tell-tale symptoms, which delayed my eventual taking of my meds until way later. Bah. Hopefully tomorrow I remember to take them.

Dammit my ears just won't unplug and give me my balance back, nor will my lungs cease trying to vacate my chest! *angry grumbling*

EDIT 4-9-09 329am: Just got done watching the first 4 episodes of Claymore because I can't sleep due to this full-body death cough. So far, pretty good. I like it in color, since the manga is B&W, now I can tell which Claymore warrior is which. But it's super late and I need to eventually get some sleep. Episodes 5-? will have to wait until I wake up...

Just got back from the vet not too long ago. Nothing bit my Lovey Lump, but something irritated her eye enough for her to scratch at her eye and she has a minor infection. So now she has some ointment (not a big fan of that word... ointment... ick) that I have to but on her eye ball *le shudder*. But that's okay, really. At least I don't have to try and trick her into eating medication or anything; I get to force it upon her. Hehehehe.

Also found out Kiera is 13.5 lbs. She's overweight in feline terms. They would like her to be 10 lbs or so. Well, I just put food in the bowl and let her eat as she wants to, instead of a scheduled feed. So the vet told me that I get to put her on a canned (soft) food diet instead of dry food. Apparently dry food is like "Chinese food" and canned food is a "steak"; because you eat Chinese food then a while later you're hungry again, but if you ate a steak, you'd be full for a while. And dry food is ruffage/carbs and canned food is protein. Later tonight I'm going to Target and stocking up on canned foods for Kiera, but I won't start her diet until after I get back from DETOUR on Sunday.

My sister is going to be coming by while I'm gone for the weekend to check in on Kiera (may/not medicate my cat while I'm gone, which is OK with me), so I don't want to hassle my sister any more with all these specific directions and crap. If it was for longer than a weekend (like when I was in Baltimore or St. Louis) I'd want her to do the whole soft food and medication stuff. I called her just to let her know about the meds and stuff, and I also told her about Kiera's diet. Luke overheard her say something about a diet and when Jenni explained the carbs vs. protien, Luke exclaimed: "Kiera's going on the Atkin's Diet?!" It was funny.

Okay... gotta get to packing for DETOUR and to Target and do laundry.... argh! Check y'all on Sunday!

Went to the doctor today, and got some antibiotics for my ears. Apparently I have sinus backup and it's a few steps away from a full-blown ear infection. And the type of antibiotics I've been given are the kind that has been wired to "kill everything and let God sort 'em out". Well... who ever programed these antibiotics, they needed to let them know that certain body parts are a necessity for living life as I know it. Blargh. >_~

Got a fun package in the mail today, and I think I scared the mailman in the process. I came home from the doctor's when he was leaving my apartment complex, and as I opened my door a piece of paper fell out of my door frame. A package notice. The mailman turned around and said he had the package in the truck, so if I could wait while he finished his route, he'd be right back with it. So ten minutes later he knocks on my door and hands me a package. I sign for it, like you do, excited to have a package when---as he's walking away---I exclaim: " OH!! I KNOW WHAT THIS IS!!" It was my Kagome cosplay outfit! YAY! Sorry, no pics of me in it until Detour in two weeks (April 3-5, 2009). Anime Detour 2009 is only two weeks away! 3 days of nonstop anime and manga to overload and stimulate! w00t! I guess this year the convention has stepped it up a few notches and moved to the Crown Plaza Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul, MN. I'm super excited. I'm going with my coworker Hope from the LB. I'm giddy with uber dorky goodness. It tastes like nugat.
