I went to Target today to buy windshield wipers for James (my Stratus), and then I stopped at home and told dad he was helping me install them. Although now I see how stupidly easy they are to install... a baby could do it... but I bought bad ones. Dad scolded me for buying wipers at Target, I should have "gone to an auto parts store, not Target." Since one of the wipers had been returned and it was returned used. Although dad theorizes that the person who bought said wiper just "exchanged" his old crappy one for the new one then returned the "new one", because it was all bent up and had rust on it. Grrr. So I'm going to return them hopefully tomorrow before work (if I wake up on time), or maybe Saturday. Grr. But then dad and I went to Napa and got good Teflon wipers, and had the Napa dude install them for me. And I also wanted dad to shut up because he just kept on talking about things that the Napa dude didn't need to know... like how the old wiper from James broke when we pulled it off, so dad put an old leather glove under the wiper arm so it wouldn't scratch my windshield. The Napa people didn't need to know that I drove over there with a glove under my windshield wiper, dad. But he paid for them, so that made up for the slight embarrassment. Although it looked like I had trapped a man under my hood and he was trying to escape, so I pinned his hand down with my wiper arm. I told that to dad as we drove over... I'm not sure if he thought it was as funny as I thought it was. Hehehe. *le sigh* Fathers, what can you do with them?
While I was at Target, I also picked up a horrible impulse buy that I really didn't need. But I did, really, if you rationalize it right. For I do believe that I have now officially watched all my movies. And have watched them enough that I don't think I can watch them anymore any time soon! And if you've seen my movie collection... that is pretty damn impressive. I bought Planet Terror, Robert Rodriguez' half of the Grindhouse movie(s?) presentation from last summer. Quentin Tarantino did the other half, Death Proof. I didn't see either in the theater... we opted to go see Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Movie Film for Theaters instead. Hehehe. Okay... so Planet Terror... has to be about the best damn horror-gross-out-action-spoof ever. I mean, the first half of the film started out pretty dedicated to the fact that it's a movie about mutant-zombie people attacking a small town full of crazies. No biggie. It even had that weird grainy-aged reel-to-reel, drive-in movie feel to the film, which was cool. Oh, and the beginning "trailer"... Machete? Freakin' awesome! Anyhoo... Then about halfway, it gets kinda silly when it cuts in the middle of the "love scene" with MISSING REEL... WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVIENENCE: THEATER MANAGEMENT.... then breaks into the movie about what would have normally been 10-20 minutes after where the "break" happened. And where it picks up is hilarious! The two characters who have been at odds with each other now suddenly understand each other and have bonded magically! There are all these other characters who have been shown in other sub-plots throughout the movie, and they're all in the same area now, all together magically... hilarious! Then it just kinda gets this undertone of campiness which is delicious. And the fact Tarentino guest-stars in the movie as a mutant-zombie and his man junk melts off... DELICIOUS! ^_^ Heheheeee. Yet... at the same time... disgusting beyond all measure!! I was actually nauseous during some parts of the movie. It didn't help that I had had cheesy ravioli in spaghetti sauce with chicken for supper before watching the movie... and some of the special effects for the monsters looked uncomfortably too much like my meal. Blech! And I actually jumped and screamed at some parts! Like when the girl snaps her wrist with the car door!? Holy sweet angry Jesus! NOT expecting that!!! o.0 But over all... Planet Terror is my favorite impulse buy of the year thus far. Yay! I may have to get Death Proof now... yes. Tarantino is good for mindless violence (I need to figure out how to spell that man's name...).
Today it snowed... which was delicious as well. Yay! Made things nice and white again for a while, although it also made losers out of almost anyone in a motor vehicle. Bah. And it also made whiners of those who can't handle it. Seriously people... you live here. You've either moved here for some reason or another, or were born here. Somehow, you've made a choice to remain and live here. You know that it's going to snow, like it's done for the last five zillion years. Get over yourselves and either deal with it, or move. And shut the fuck up so I can enjoy my snow. I'm sorry if I'm the only freakin' Minnesotan that actually likes snow! Goddammit! >_< *takes deep breath* While also watching crazy mutant-zombie movie, I was working on my half-assed scrapbook. Why do I call it that? Because it's basically a photo album I've filled with pictures from college (I have 4 of them: 1 for each year) and I'm not really doing any fun "normal" scrapbooking decorations to them... way too expensive. So I'm just putting fun stickers and decorations on the photo album pages instead of putting them in an album and making big huge pages with cut out designs and words describing things... too much work and not enough money to pull that off. I'm almost done with my sophomore year now... almost to my junior year. Need to work on the first 2 albums some more... need more event-specific stickers. But other than that, it's going well. It also took off the gross-out edge from the movie... watch some gore, then do some stickers... watch more gore... decorate with stickers.... It was a crazy balance that worked.
Okay... I've run out of remotely interesting things to say now. And it's late. It's nearly 2am! Woooooo! I guess I'll catch y'all on the flip side!

I dyed my hair last night, which would explain the odd odors my nasal cavities are providing me. Hehehe. My hair didn't turn out as dark as I was hoping, but it's still a nice rich dark brown. I'm experimenting with how dark I can get my hair without going Sharpie Black again. Although I did love having black hair...
So my Book of the Month chart has failed. And when I say "failed", I really mean: FAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL
- The Best Book of Useless Information Ever!
- Chibi Vampire Volumes One through SEVEN
- Warrior Queen
- Claymore 11 (just came out today!! *le squeee!*
Yeah... Uh... my whole BOTM chart didn't work at all. Ooopies. Curse me and my lack of self-control! And curse you Manga Monkey for pointing out fun new manga titles to get into. Yeah, I bought all 7 of the currently in-publication volumes of Chibi Vampire in the span of... 6 days? My bank account has been groaning from the workout I've put it through. Oh well... *le sigh* There are worse things to spend a butt load of money on, right? And... that's about it. Not much to say right now. Oh, Ozwald the Amaryllis is blooming lovely pink flowers! He looks so pretty! Yay! And I lost another silver mollie fish. But I have a new scum sucker named Stretchy Steve, and he's not quite got the hang of eating algae disks... I don't think he knows they're food.
But I have put in my time-off requests for the mid-part of May so I can go down to St. Louis and see my friend Phil graduate from seminary! Wooo! Yay! He'll be a pastor finally!! =)

All the while, as they sit, I obsessviely buy more and more... and more... hording books away and spending moneys I don't have. And given certain financial strains placed upon me by having to actually pay bills and trying to salvage my checking account from the ICU it's been in since Christmas... I've put upon myself a Book of the Month restriction. What is the Book of the Month (BOTM)? Well, I'm giving myself a book allowance, and I can only buy one book a month. Yeah. Harsh. I know. But so far, I've done really well. I bought Rogue Angel: God of Thunder to replace the stripped model I had, and that's all I've bought at work for the month of January! (Well... book wise... don't ask me about the Buy 2 Get 1 Free DVD sale...) And in my slightly anal/OCD/Type A personality I have... I've even made an Excel spread sheet of my BOTM selections, lisitng one book for the rest of 2008, 2009, and even sprinkling a few proposed titles into 2010. I know. Bad. So given all the books I already own that I haven't read, and the 12 new books a year... I should be set.
But not when you read the first half of a series and you're stuck because you can't buy the next two until about... oh.... JUNE. But I could move around my titles in the Excel spread sheet. I've done it before, and did it just a few minutes ago. I read the first two volumes of that manga that I was unwittingly introduced to tonight. It's called Miki Falls, and each volume is named after the four seasons, and that's when the events of the volume take place. It's a cute romance story about a girl, Miki, who through various events, falls in love with a guy she's not supposed to, and he falls in love with her---the whole forbidden love angle, always a big hit! And it's just... oh! I finished reading the second volume (Summer) and I was just... oh! That feeling you get when the two lovers are kept apart by various events or people trying to keep them apart, but they just can't seem to stay away from each other... and... well... oh! The tightening of your chest and hopeful---if not hopelessly romantic---rush of excitement and anticipation just fills your chest and you know something is going to happen because they just said they can't be together because of the forbiddenness of their feelings... but he's standing there at the train station, waiting for her, because he knows they can't be apart, and all he does is wraps her in his arms and kisses her and says he'll be there when she gets back from her summer vacation trip thing.... and he gives her the arrow she lost in the first place that brought them together and he had spent hours looking for it in a rice paddie! OOOOOHHHH!!! Just makes your hopeless-romantic-girly-girl meter go off the charts!!! (Oh yes... I know I'm a complete and utter dork.)
AND I CAN'T FINISH IT BECAUSE I CAN ONLY BUY ONE BLOODY BOOK A MONTH! So even if I rearrange my carefully crafted BOTM chart to put those two last volumes together... I still have to wait until March to get the last volume! And I need to know what happens because of how the first volume begins----doing one of those fun end-of-the-story-begins-the-story-flashb
*takes a deep breath* Okay, on to other things before I work myself into a tizzy. Tonight, before I started Miki Falls, I finished Rogue Angel: The Secret of the Slaves. I think this one is the best installment of this series since the first one. It actually had that whole element of supernatural things going on that can't quite be explained that I felt was kind of lacking to some degree in the last 6 books. Hehehe. Yep, finished book 8 of 10 thus far... books 11 & 12 are coming out in the next year. But I still have #9: Warrior Spirit and#10: Serpent's Kiss to tide me over until those next ones come out. And my other myriad of books I have yet to read. My BOTM idea is a good one, really, because it'll force me to read the ones I already have instead of going back to my former habit of obsessivey buying books and hording them... to eventually getting around to reading them.
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGHH! I need to go and move my BOTM chart around and move Miki Falls up a few months!! Argh! And why did I have to already have my heart set on Dragon Lance Lost Chronicles: Dragons of the Highlord Skies as my February book selection!? I think it might have to be bumped back to April... I need to know how it ends!! I MUST KNOW!!! AAAAAHHAAH-AHAAAHAHAHAHHAHHAAA!!!!
*runs around apartment flailing arms like a Muppet in a hurricane*
*my laptop keys squeeeeek when I type furiously in book frustration*
EDIT 1228am: Okie dokie... switched around some of my titles on my BOTM list. Now this week I'll have to order Miki Falls 3 so it'll be ready for purchase in February! *dorky giggle*

It was just one of those craptacular sort of days today. And it actually started yesterday. Yesterday was my uncle's wake, which I was planning on going to, since it just didn't work out to get my shift at work covered properly today to go to the funeral. So after waking up at 545am to be at work at 7am, getting off work at 330pm, I was planning on driving the 2 hours to Blue Earth, then drive back home another 2 hours to sleep and do it all over again (the waking up early for work part) today. Well, I drove about as far as Jordan on Hwy 160 when the overall exhaustion from my work day, and the annoyance with the 20+ mph wind gusts... I decided to turn around and go home. There was no way I was going to make it to and from Blue Earth like that. So I went home, got into my pjs, then curled up on the couch and slept for a few hours. Loverly. I woke up today... late. Got going to work... late. Realized almost halfway to work that I forgot my glasses on the bathroom counter. I get to work, thinking I can pull off my shift sans optical bling... when about 45 minutes into my shift I "guilt" my MOD Brick into letting me drive home super fast and get my glasses. He's awesome enough he lets me go! Wooo! I love Brick! So I get back to work, and the rest of my shift goes fine. Except for the pants exploding incident in the bathroom! I was hikin' up the pants when... pop! There goes a few teeth from my zipper... my zipper to my pants broke! So my barn door was open for the last hour of my shift. *le sigh*
Our store has started our Holiday Book Drive, and this year we are donating books to the Southern Valley Alliance Women's Shelter, where the children of abusive/broken homes can get books for Christmas; but the children can also pick out a book for the mothers! Yay! So our goal for this book drive is 2,000 books. Which basically breaks down to 44 books a day. Well, today I set a pretty high record: 15 books on the first day. Hehehe. We're keeping track of who gets the most books and stuff, for prizes and stuff. Yay prizes! Last year I got 65 books total.

Year of the Baby Update:
Tonight I got to baby-sit Baby Natali,
jilrani &
calmingsilence's little baby. Such a little cutie! It was fun baby-sitting, since I've never really watched a child that young by myself before. My little cousins (my cousins' kids) were all watched by their aunties or uncle, who had more experience with children (they're all teachers) and were also closer to them than I am (less than an hour away). Which is fine, since I'm not a huge fan of children over the age of 2 anyway. But Natali was fun. I fed her a little bit, we watched a little TV (CSI:LV, the Wild v St. Louis Blues, The Office, My Name is Earl), and we also had a little nap. It was quite fun, although she got a bad case of hiccups so I texted her daddy with: She has bad hiccups! Fix? It was funny! That lasted about 20 minutes, then she quieted down. I didn't get to watch much of CSI like I wanted to, or much TV, since Natali wanted to be held and rocked or walked for most of the night. Which is fine. It was fun having a little nap with her.
Okie dokie chill'uns... I'm super tired and I have to close tomorrow... I want to make sure I wake up by noon or noon-thirty.

I'm not a terribly patient person. You wouldn't be able to tell it by looking at me, but I'm not. I like things to be done NOW. Not tomorrow. Not in an hour. Now. As in... if you could physically make it possible, I'd like for things to be done yesterday. Every once in a while, my annoyance over waiting for things escapes and I voice it, but in a comical way. And normally, the things I'm impatient for will be mine or come to fruition in about... a week. Maybe a month at most. But nope... not this time. I must wait for five months. I don't think I can make it. What has gotten me all hot and bothered?
I finished Claymore 8-10 this week... and I learned via the back of Volume 10 and also looking in BookMaster at work (our book lookie-up system) that Volume 11 won't come out until March 4, 2008. What!??! Grrrrr. But I want to read it nooooooooowwwww!!! I also get very whiny when I'm impatient. *le sigh* Oh well. I guess this means I actually have to read the other elevenity billion books on my bookshelf until then. Maybe I'll read Jeff's book next. I also finished Battle Pope Volume 3 & 4 last night. They finally came into work, and I bought them on my 15 minute break. I read Volume 3 in the break room, and was just giggling like a school girl, which amused
lokein as he was taking his break, too. I may have to borrow these to him, so that he can understand the immense awesomeness of Battle Pope.
Okie dokie... I've wasted enough of my morning... I just woke up about 45 minutes ago (aahhh, the beauty of days off...). I need to get to Target and return the new replacement bath rugs I bought after my dyeing incident, and I'm also strangely hungry for a Burger King Italian Chicken Sammich. I haven't had one of those in years! I might also stop by the EP Mall and use my Archiver's coupons to get stuff, so I can finish my July 2005 Road Trip scrapbook.
Allrighty then, children. Ciao!
Edit [137pm]: Okay, so I'm slow at getting my ass moving today, but I did make a new icon! I finally made Manga Monkey! He's such a bad Manga Monkey... hehehe. I hope you enjoy! I updated this post with him, too. =^_^=

And I don't know where the dealers are in my neighborhood. *ahem* Anyhoo.
Today at work I bought Claymore 4 on my last 15 minute break of the day. Then bought Claymore 5 when I clocked out of work. Read both as I waited in the break room to leave for DBT from the EP Mall. Bought Claymore 6 & 7 on the way out the door. Read half of Volume 6 at DBT while eating Wendy's and waiting for class to start.
Oh... delicious manga... how you swim in my veins like radioactive rubber pants!
From
jilrani: The point of this meme is that one of your friends picks seven interests off your interest list and YOU get to explain why you're interested in them! If you want to play, comment! You can either pick 7 of mine, or just comment and I'll pick 7 of yours.
ARIA: It's a comic that's about faeries and magic and all that fun stuff, but set in present day (or maybe near future) NYC. The first few issues were beautifully drawn and just blew me away. I bought one graphic novel of the first story arc... but then the art got bad and I had to stop. It made me sad.
FLCL: Aahhh... Fooly Cooly... or Furi Kuri... the greatest 6 episode anime ever made. It's a fantastical, if not a bit bad-acid-trip-on-celluloid, about a boy who's trying to find his place in the world after his brother leaves for USA to play baseball, and trying to live with a sex-crazed inattentive father. Then this alien chick Haruko comes down on a sentient moped, smacks the boy in the forehead with her Fender Stratus Guitar, and strange alien beings pop out of his head. It's amazing.
FOAMY: the most embittered squirrel to ever roam the earth. He's a fantastic Internet-based cartoon entity that I discovered while dating Joe. He has the best rants about current affairs, pop culture, and anything else that crosses his mind. Quite entertaining.
I FEEL SICK: Another awesome comic, by Jhonen Vasquez (of JTHM and Invader Zim fame), about a girl who is slightly phobic of the outside world, and is a struggling artist. And a painting she is working on has come to life and is talking to her. It's only a 2 issue comic, but it only needs to be that long.
MAGIC 8 BALLS: I love to use them to answer questions. Stupid questions. And because I thought it would be hilarious to have it on my desk if I ever became a counselor and "use it diagnose" patients. All as a joke, of course. Magic 8 Balls haven't been approved by the APA or the DSM-IV-TR.... yet.
PRINCESS MONONOKE: One of the best anime movies of all time. Just... visually breath taking with a great story. Most of Miyazaki's work involves the belief in forest gods, animal gods/spirits, and man's delicate balance/coexistence with nature. A wonderful story. Love it. WATCH IT.
TRIGUN: The best part of this anime is that the hero spends the first half of the series pretending to not be who he really is, and acts such the fool to divert attention from him. But he really is Vash the Stampede: The Human Typhoon. Destroyer of towns and the 60$$ billion double-dollar man. Great series.
So yeah. That's it.
EDIT: [1123pm] update: I finished Claymore 6 & 7 tonight. Now I'm tempted to go and buy 8 through... however many there are... but... argh! I'm hopelessly addicted to manga! =^_^=

Finished Death Note 12 tonight. Wow. I'm glad I stuck with the whole series. At times it did drag on for a few too many volumes, but overall, a good manga. Yay. The last volume did surprise me in how it ended, with the main character kinda going a little insane towards the end. But it was kind of inevitable, considering that he was using a shinigami's (god of death) notebook to kill people and considered himself the new god of justice of the world. Neat. Now I can fully devote my manga focus to Claymore. Finished Claymore 3 tonight as well... since I had the time... *le sigh*

Opened at work today. It went well. I'm slowly getting the hang of being a head cashier. I'm still forgetting some things and messing up (today i gave a register $10 too much in change, so the whole safe was off!). But the other head cashier and the managers all give me positive points of improvement (read: "Well, you did Mistake A, but just remember to do Proper Procedure B, and you'll be fine. Other than that... you're doing Other Random Tasks H-K all right."). Which is good. And given this is my 2nd week of the job, and I haven't cost the store a bazillion dollars, nor have I been dragged into Rodney's office kickin' and screamin'... I think I'm doing well!
After work I picked up Death Note 12 (the last volume! *sob!*) and Claymore 3. Like Claymore. A good plot, nice action, beautiful cover work and inside artwork. Yay. I like my anime/manga to have more action to it than drama-plot-development. Take Inuyasha, for an example. Just the right amount of drama-character-development to keep things moving, but yet there's at least one good demon slaughter per episode. I miss that series. I lost track of it my Junior-Senior years of college, when school and life got in the way, and [adult swim] felt the need to overhaul their whole programing selection and kept on moving their anime shows around or just taking them off the air entirely. That annoyed me... still annoys me... but I don't want to get on an [adult swim] rant right now. ANYHOO. Since I have been buying at least one volume of manga after each of my shifts for the past week or so... my collection of books has increased a lot! I decided I need to take some action and get a new bookshelf. Not a biggie, since my room is small due to Mt. Craptuvious making a slow-but-steady comeback. But I found a nice smallish bookshelf "organizational unit" that suits my needs. And it was only $12.99! Squee! I put that together tonight and set it up in my room; and may I say it's slick. Super slick. I'm excited. I think it'll be my manga shelf, since they are smaller and typically all the same size, so I can smoosh a lot in there in various ways. However, how I have it set up... there's no back to the shelves, so the books may fall out... I may have to find something and tack it on the back.
I also brought out the flannel sheets for the bed tonight. I felt it was about time to get them out. It's not that terribly cold in my house, or even outside at night (nightly lows in the lower 40s). But this way, I can wear my more summery pjs and be nice and comfy in the bed and not roast, and not be too toasty with my more autumnal pjs with the summer knit sheets. Somehow... it works out. Yeah. I also experimented with tilapia tonight. I breaded it and baked it at 350* for about 30-35 minutes, and made some Uncle Ben's Wild Rice with it. It was nice and moist juicy and flaky fish I've had! SO much better than making it in a Teflon pan! Didn't dry out like it does the way I normally make fish. However... I'm not sure how my tummy is liking it. Later on in the evening up to now, I've had this odd feeling in my tummy, and my throat is acting weird. Not sure how to classify it. Not hurling weird... just... weird. I'm pretty sure the fish was cooked all the way. It wasn't pink, nice and warm... and fro Criss'sake's it was cooking @ 350* for over half an hour!! I think my body isn't used to "real food". I've been eating plain unadulterated shit the last few weeks, and I've just started to eat Subway sammiches from the food court (B&N in mall), make my own sammiches, or make meals now... ones that don't come in a macrowavable box or a Mickey D's bag.... and I don't think my body knows what to do with it! That's bad.
Well... yeah. That's about it for now. I'm going to go play some puter games... or read a little bit of DN12. Dunno yet.
Note: I want to see 30 Days of Night... ooooooo.... scary sh*t!

Just some brief uppie-datie things before I go make food and get warm...
- Bought Death Note 11.
Only 1 more to go before I finish the series! (11/12) - Bought Claymore 2.
Have no idea how many more before I finish. (2/??) - Bought Battle Pope: Genesis.
There are only 4 volumes in this series; (2/4) - Bought Surrounded by Witnesses, the newest book from our receiving manager Jeff Foster. The cover art is done by the bargain lead, Kelcey Knott. Go buy it! Both are doing a signing at the EP B&N tomorrow night (Friday the 12th) at 7pm if you're interested... I'm going to get them to sign my book!
- New Cyanide & Happiness comic to follow at end of post.
- Waiting for Walking Dead 7:The Calm Before to come out... *le sigh* It was supposed to be in the store 09-27-2007... still waiting...
- Lou Nanne, former MN North Stars player back in the day, is going to be signing his latest book at our store at the end of November... and according to our CRM Brenda, he brings a whole bunch of people... including former MN North Stars and current MN Wild players... *le drool* Gotta make sure I get to that one! I love me some Wild hockey players!!

Yay for Wednesday! Hehehe. I get to do a turn-n-burn for work.... which means I close tonight (3-1130pm) then go and open tomorrow (730-4pm). Loverly. Oh well, I'm up now, and the other nights when I had to open in the morning, I've gone to bed a little after midnight (or later). So yeah. Just had to check LJ and emails to help wind down from work. Had a little bit of a hectic closing. Things were going well until some paperwork was missing from a register... then the safe was off by a few dollars... so then I and the other head cashier, who was training me, had to run around like loons finding things, and yeah. A little tension was there. But things worked out, and I was a bit cranky when I got off work. Oh well. I don't have to count all the tills tomorrow when I get there since I counted them tonight. Squeee. Overall, I'm slowly getting the hand of things. Some things I need to slow down on and try not to focus on how long I'm taking, but to make sure I get things done right. Speed can come later.
Almost done with Death Note. Two more volumes to go. Picked up volume 11 tonight. Ack! It's driving me insane. I want to know how it's going to end, dammit! Although it could have definitely ended a few volumes ago. Some of the stuff in there was a little silly and unnecessary. Oh well. Good times. Once I'm done with DN, I'll move on to Claymore Volume 2. That seems to have potential. I can also work on the numerous books I have to get at that were once on my now defunk'd "Books I Should Read Before I Buy Anything Else List". I also finished Sin City this weekend. *le sigh* Now I'm all sad. But I did pick up the movie, so I can watch it and/or read it whenever I want... I like the movie better because Dwight isn't an oddly drawn man (who supposedly was "good looking" in the comic)... but Clive Owen... *le drool*
So... remember my few posts of mentioning a "Jesse", or an asshole/buttmunch? Well... Jesse is a guy I met through Match.com's sister site Chemistry.com... and we'd been playing email and phone tag for a few weeks, and we had planned on getting together a few Thursdays ago, but he didn't return my call *le grr*. But I had a CSI:LV date night with my sister instead... anyhoo, he finally calls me Sunday afternoon while I'm sleeping off bad hot dogs. He explains why he didn't call back and why he was absent for a while (uncle had a heart attack and then he had to go visit his parents in Wisconsin), but he wants to make it up to me. Yay! So I call him back, and we chatted (he actually said something that made me speechless, which some of you know is hard to do) and decided to meet for lunch at the EP Qdoba on Monday. We meet, and have burritos (well, I did, he had tacos) and chatted and had a good time. It was a nice.... date?... yeah. And then as he's leaving and we're saying our "see ya laters", he says we should do this again. Wooo! Second date!
So my question is... should I contact him and see if he wants to do something? And if so, when? How long should I wait to ask him to go do stuff? I was thinking next week...? I have Saturday off and stuff... so... yeah. But then, if I invite him out to something... what should it be? Have him decide? Or should I have an idea already? I'm so confused! I haven't been on a "date" or "dating" in almost two years! I'm lost! Hehehe. I'm funny. Despite the being absent for a week after our flaked-out "date", he's a nice guy. Really funny and down-to-earth. And he's cute. ^_^ Which is a bonus. I had a good time with him and wasn't too nervous or self-conscious around him, which is good. Although I had a brain fart that day and didn't talk as much as a normally do.... so now I'm thinking of things I should have said in response to something he said/brought up... grrr. But I always do that, no matter the situation.
Yeah. That's my update. Cool, huh?

Curse you Japanese Manga! I'm totally addicted to buying manga now. Is it manga in the comic form and anime in the film form? Or are the two terms interchangeable? I'm never sure, really. Oh well. Not really the point now. All I know is that the film/video versions cost $30+... while the comic versions cost me $9 at work... hehehe.
I finished Death Note Volume 5 tonight while I was waiting for my DBT class to start. Curses! Oh! It's totally going in a new direction now, and it's making me mad! Not mad enough to stop reading it... but mad because I can't finish it now! I want to know what happens now! ACK!! There's 12 volumes in the series, and I can't buy them all at once. Well... I could but that would be a hefty strain on my bank account. So tomorrow after work I'm buying Volume 6. Grrrr. I also picked up Claymore Volume 1 the other day, too. Good stuff, so far. Diana, from work, said she read the first 3 volumes, but then lost interest in it. Hmm. Well, so far it seems pretty good. Good art in it, which always attracts my attention. I think I'll finish Death Note before I get more of Claymore.
I also had a bad run-in with a manga series (surprisingly) that I picked up at the Har Mar B&N, in their used book section. I got the first 3 volumes of a manga called Peace Maker, and it seemed pretty good from what I saw and read, so I picked it up. Got 3 for the price of one with employee discount. I read it at DBT, after I finished DN5. Blech! BLECH I say! It was... a big mess! I couldn't follow anything! The layout of the scene/pages was just a mess. The dialog was like... WTF? Then I check out the front page of the first volume, and see it's a continuation of another manga series. Well... if that had been brought to my attention earlier... I wouldn't have been annoyed. Well, I still have the receipt. Hopefully I can return it at the Har Mar store this weekend after the Fallcon.
T minus 4 days and counting for Fallcon! Wooo! I'm excited! I still need to finish printing off two of my Bargain Section comics, but I can do that tomorrow and Thursday. Then I can get stuff ready to go. I'm pretty set, just need to get the comics done and also get some money ready. And I need to hammer out details of transportation with my Filthy Assistant Alex. Yep, I found a Filthy Assistant. Since I got no response from people about being a Filthy Assistant, I asked my coworker friend Alex if he liked comics, and if he'd like to help me out at the Fallcon. Damn, I thought the boy was going to piss his pants he was so excited! Hehehe. Of course, this was about a month or so ago. He's been counting down the days since. Especially this week. Monday we also hung out a bit, he was planning on seeing a movie after work, then asked if I wanted to come along. Naturally, I said yes. We went to The Kingdom after work. It was good. The big selling point with us: lotsa shit blowin' up. Yeah. And with a little bit of a message in it that ties to the relationship between us and our Arab friends. But.... mostly shit blowing up. ^_^
So yeah. I get to sleep in tomorrow... sleep in until 7am! Wooo! I'm not training as head cashier tomorrow (no one told me other wise...), so I get to be at work at 9am. Two more hours of sleep! I get to wake up at 7am instead of being at work at 7am. w00t. So far training is going well. I'm slowly getting a handle on the paperwork and stuff in the mornings. Doing stuff with the register drawers and stuff is easy, I used to do that all the time when we used to count down our own drawers at the end of our shifts. I'm just worried about Friday night when I close on my own. The other head cashier, Laura, won't be there; but Ged will be, and I can always ask him questions and stuff. So I'm not toooooooo worried, but still a little anxious.
Okie dokie... I should get to bed. I've been up since 545am. And it's 1121pm. Ugh. Not right.
I also need to make a manga monkey icon for all my rants about anime/manga. Next thing on my To Do List.
